Special occasions usually call for celebratory drinks. I recently had the dilemma of heading to the liquor store to pick out a selection for our impending anniversary party. I came to the realization a long time ago that it was impossible to please everyone so you make a few choices of each and cross your fingers. I made my choices and headed up to the register to pay for my selections.
I got home, put them all on the counter and continued to set up for our party guests. My husband strolled over to the counter and asked me if I noticed that one of the whiskey bottles had a bottle lock over the cap. I gazed at him in a puzzling manner and asked what exactly a bottle lock was. He explained that nightclubs and bars use them mostly to prevent internal theft and they are virtually impossible to get off without a proper key. I took to the internet, convinced I could take this off the bottle cap myself.
There are dozens of videos detailing how to take off several security tags, but nothing I tried could get this thing off. I waved the white flag and had to bring it back to the store so they could remove it. The store clerk was very apologetic and literally removed the lock off the bottle cap in a few short seconds. Now that I know what bottle locks look like, I can’t see any unnecessary return trips to the store.
